Clear Floor Trap Choke

Floor traps are installed in every household to collect wastewater from sinks, showers, wash basins, bathroom, etc. They have openable grating on the top. This grating is made from cast iron or UPVC (Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride). Floor traps also prevent foul drainage gasses entering our houses/buildings. They have minimum water seal depth and they usually range from 50mm to 110mm. There are a lot of options available in their sizes, shapes, etc.

When to seek professional help?

It is understandable if you don’t want to contact plumbers right away but it is also important to recognise the warning signs of a major buildup. Here are some signs which let you know when to contact us:

  • Foul Smells:One of the main functions of a floor trap is to prevent harmful and nasty odours from the drainage system to reach us. But when the floor trap itself starts smelling then it’s a major sign of a possible blockage in the trap.
  • Slow or No Draining of water:This is the most prominent sign of a choke in the floor trap. You’re done taking a bath but there’s still ankle-level water on the floor or when you’re doing the dishes and the water keeps accumulating but when you return after a while the water is completely drained. This is ignorable when the water is slowly drained but when it completely stops draining, it becomes a huge problem.
  • Backflow: This is the most alarming sign of all. Backflow from the sewer can be extremely harmful and damaging. Contact professional plumbers as soon as possible.

You can contact us at any time, any day and we’ll be there at your service. We have a team of experienced and skilled plumbers who can deal with any kind of problems you are facing!
